We have the opportunity to focus public attention on creating a country where everyone is safe and free, with a care system and economy that works for all of us. We have a clear vision for a better future: by coming together to rewrite the rules and making the wealthiest few pay their fair share, we can ensure that everyone — Black, white and brown, native and newcomer — can earn a good living and have a good life; we can resource our schools so that every child can pursue their dreams; and we can provide families with the care we all need to get and stay well.

To succeed in this moment, we must cut through the sense of inevitability our opposition has built that the way things are now reflects how they will always be. By joining together, Black, white, and brown, we will vote in record numbers and raise our voices in the streets to swear in a government of, by, and for the people.

The truth is that the future is the sum of the changes we demand, the courage we display, and how we stand with and for each other.

We are from northern Wisconsin and we know that people here have a strong sense of identity centered in their rural communities and small towns, and that each has its own unique sensibility. But there are common values and ideals that connect us all and make this a wonderful place to live – and that’s why we center our work and our platform, the Progress North People’s Charter, on them: equity, people-centered democracy, and the common good. We have developed a complete candidate screening and endorsement process that puts the power of selection in the hands of our members. Progress North endorsed candidates will embody our core values and will have met the approval of a majority of our members.

Becoming a member is easy – but it’s also incredibly important. Our members are making investments in the work we do every day, and they’re the people who come to the table to help us decide which candidates are the ones who earn our public endorsement and support.
