Wisconsin AG Josh Kaul outlines $115 million plan for ‘safer communities’

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul unveiled a legislative package Monday aimed at taking what his office said are “significant steps toward safer communities across Wisconsin.”

The legislation, which carries a $115 million price tag, would utilize funds from the state’s budget surplus — which is projected to be as much as $1.7 billion come June 2023 — and make a wide-range of investments in community policing, background checks, officer wellness grants and more.
